Mundas "R" Us

The Munda community, an indigenous group native to the forested regions of eastern India, Bangladesh, and Nepal, particularly in the Sundarbans, represents a story of resilience and survival. For centuries, the Munda people have been custodians of their environment, shaping their identity through a symbiotic relationship with the natural world. However, as modernity/coloniality encroaches upon their lands, traditions, and livelihoods, the preservation of their unique way of life is under threat. This narrative speaks not just of a distant people, but of a shared human struggle: how do we sustain ourselves while preserving the essence of who we are?
